What to look at
Thai gold is stamped, and the stamp is worth reading: 750 is 18 karat, 585 is 14, and the number is punched inside the shank next to the maker's mark. Higher karat is softer and warmer in colour, lower karat holds a polish and a set stone better — for a bangle that will knock against desks and door handles, that trade-off is the whole decision.
Try the fit on the hand you actually use. A hinged bangle with a box clasp goes on over a wrist that a solid one will not clear, and a solid bangle has to pass the knuckle of the thumb — measure that before falling for a size that looks right in the case.
